CypherCon is open to anyone with a ticket seeking information security knowledge and networking. This includes hackers, fake crackers, phreakers, phrackers, underground denizens, technophiles, lawyers, friendly federal employees, security professionals, journalists, convicted felons now released from prison, friendly police seeking knowledge towards justice, and the occasional concerned Wisconsin parent consenting to their underage minors wishing to consume alcohol at the parents discretion and of the establishment.
CypherCon is an annual “Information Security” Hacker Conference based in Milwaukee, WI, USA. 2016 will be the inaugural conference and will continue annually thereafter. Cyphercon will be limited in ticket sales and will maintain a low advertising budget, unless tickets don’t sell.. so buy one early! The conference will be known for offering an unique conference taste in the unbeatable friendly atmosphere of Milwaukee.
We aim to lead, convene, and connect information security friends for a free and open discussion on strong cryptography, become advocacy outlet for privacy, and strive for the betterment of education of the general public in a diligent, loyal, honest manner, and not knowingly be part of any illegal or improper activities. We will accomplish this by being the interchange of knowledge and ideas, advancing the industry forward, while never forgetting our cultural hacker past.
Presentation topics may include: corporate and network security, privacy, personal rights and freedoms, new technologies, modern exploit techniques, security philosophy, hardware hacking, forensics, reverse engineering, protocol analysis, cryptographic algorithms, and all-around security issues with comedic ‘hacker’ motifs.
Friday is at a historic hotel downtown Milwaukee called The Pfister Hotel.

The Milwaukee community demanded a local hacker assembly that strives to offer the best information security experiences. We will achieve this by offering an annual conference targeted at brightest minds of Wisconsin’s unique technical community while still welcoming newcomers.
The conference format allows for talks, informal discussions, socialising, challenges and competitions. To guarantee the independent nature of the conference, CypherCon has the following rules:
Sponsors cannot affect the agenda
Sponsorship will not guarantee (nor prevent) a presentation slot
Zero tolerance for presentations that focus on marketing or directly promoting a commerical product
